CELEBRATE IDPwD 2024 WITH CARINGA 🎭🎪❤️🔥🌟
Caringa, your trusted community and disability support organisation serving the Clarence Valley and Coffs Coast areas for over 70 years, announces our first-ever Comedy Gala in celebration of the United Nations International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the historic Saraton Theatre.
This event features an outstanding and hilarious lineup of acclaimed performers who bring diversity, inclusivity, and exceptional talent to the stage.
Caringa is over the moon to invite YOU, our community to share an evening of fun, frivolity and fantastic entertainment with us.
Caringa IS A COMMUNITY FOR ALL
Caringa supports the experience and enjoyment of ‘A Complete Life’ with choice and independence, delivering services and support across the Clarence Valley and Coffs Coast areas for over 70 years. We are a community-focused organisation first, that delivers the person-centred and co-designed NDIS supports that you expect and deserve.
This year Caringa are combining work and play, and throwing open the doors of the Saraton to the ENTIRE Caringa Community for our inaugural International Day of People with Disability Comedy Gala.
Caringa is over the moon to invite YOU, the community, to share an evening of fun, frivolity and fantastic entertainment with us.
Headlining artists include award-winning disability advocate and comedian Madeleine Stewart, whose recent viral content on ABC iView reached 2.7 million views, and whose documentary “Inspire Me” won Best Documentary at the Australian Independent Film Festival.
“Disability access in the comedy world is rare, that’s why I created Crips and Creeps. It provides an accessible space for comedians and audiences alike where inclusion is at the heart of the show and all people can feel safe and welcome” says Stewart, who recently completed a national tour of her show “Are You Pulling My Leg?“
The inaugural Caringa Comedy Gala also showcases Sydney’s celebrated cabaret artist Irene Nicola, known for her “joyfully chaotic” performances and multiple award nominations, alongside neurodivergent comedian Sam Wade, whose intelligent and perceptive comedy has earned critical acclaim across Australia.
Caringa’s motto, ‘A Complete Life‘, emphasises its dedication to supporting choice and independence for all community members as well as celebrating their commitment to an inclusive and diverse community by providing accessible opportunities such as events like this.
