In Their Chair – Acting Team Leader, Mel

We caught up with Acting Team Leader, Mel, to discuss her current role within the Caringa Team!

How long have to been in the Acting Team Leader role?

I have been in the Acting Team Leader role since mid-May.

What training did you do to prepare you for the Team Leader role?

I have enrolled and have started doing my Bachelor of Human Services through UNI to enhance my skills to continue upskilling and have also started Frontline Leader Training through DSC.

What has surprised you the most about the Team Leader role? 

The thing that has surprised me most is the amount of support that I have had from everyone across Caringa.

What have you learnt from sitting in the Team Leader Chair?

I have learnt the importance of the role of the Team Leader for the team and clients. I am learning things such as NDIS Planning, effective communication and my favourite part has been the opportunity to learn a lot more about each clients!
